Sparring Gear
White cloth and WKF fist pads, mouthpiece, and cup (males) are mandatory for all divisions.

Chest and rib protectors for females and children are optional. Only safety/athletic glasses are allowed during Kumite. If you are wearing contacts lenses, make sure they are soft lenses.

Sunday’s Judges’ Clinic will be at 7:45 AM at Wright College, 4300 N. Narragansett Ave.
Judges' attire WKF  or white shirt, gray slacks, red tie and black shoes or you may wear a white uniform.

All competitors must wear a clean gi (uniform).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The tournament will only be on Sunday. We are expecting a larger crowd. Therefore, please register in advanced and be at the tournament site according to the schedule.

All events are subject to change.


Ticket /Spectator Fees:
Admission: $7 Youth under 12 $5
Children under 4 ,5 are free

Judges’ Training will also be offered at the ITKA Headquarters during the months of January-March.

Divisions & Events:

Kihon
There will be a Kihon competition for kyus 10-6. 

Individual Kata Competition: Individual kata competition will be judged on the point system with each competitor in the division completing one kata for kyus 10-4 and two katas for 3rd kyu and up.  It is recommended that intermediate and advanced students perform a kata up to their belt level; advanced levels must perform a black belt kata. Any Japanese or Okinawan katas may be performed. Male and female divisions may be combined (divisions are subject to change).  In the case of a draw, a rematch will be performed.  

Team Kata Competition
Team Kata competition will be judged on the point system with each team performing one kata. In the event of a tie, the teams will be required to perform a second, different kata. Team Kata Divisions will be grouped according to age (ages 11 and under, ages 12-17 and ages 18 and up) and rank (10th-7th kyu, 6th-4th kyu, 3rd kyu and up). Teams may include men, women, or both.

Individual Kumite: Jyu kumite.  ITKA rules apply.
Teens and adults, male and female divisions are separate.  Contact to the face and excessive contact to the body is prohibited.

Individual Kumite Rules:  Elimination and semi final rounds:  Ippon-Shobu: 2 minutes, one point.
Finals will be three minutes, 2 points.  In case of draw, there will be a Sakidori (sudden death) rematch, or the match will be completed by the judge’s decisions.  There will be a kumite match for third and fourth place, three (3) awards will be awarded.

Team Kumite
Team Kumite will consist of 3 competitors; for advanced levels only.
